Apple updates its iOS Remote, GarageBand, Logic Remote and Podcasts apps

Along with its release of iOS 7.1, Apple also updated several of its standalone iOS apps including Remote,GarageBand, Logic Remote, andPodcasts. The biggest update was for the Remote app, which add playback support for iTunes Radio on the Apple TV.
The Remote app allows iOS owners to control their iTunes library on their Mac as well as control playback that is sent to AirPlay speakers. It also works as a replacement remote for Apple TV and allows you to easily navigate using gestures and a keyboard for text input. Version 4.2 of the app includes the following changes:
  • You can now control iTunes Radio on your Apple TV
  • Browse your purchased movies and TV shows in the app and play them on Apple TV
  • Additional bug fixes and stability improvements

Apple also updated its Logic Remote, Podcasts and GarageBand apps with minor improvements as follows:
  • Logic Remote: Logic Remote is an iPad companion app for Apple’s music app including Logic Pro X, MainStage 3 and GarageBand on the Mac. The iOS app was updated to version 1.0.4, which fixes an issue that prevented Scale Modes and Chord Strips from updating to the current project key.
  • Podcasts: Podcasts allows you to subscribe to, and playback your favorite podcasts. The app was updated to version 2.0.2 which resolves an issue where the 15-second skip buttons may not appear on the lock screen when used with iOS 7.1.
  • GarageBand: GarageBand is  a full-featured recording studio with touch-based instruments. The app was updated to version 2.0.1 with improving stability improvements and bug fixes that Apple characterizes as minor.
You can download these updates from the iOS App Store. Did you install iOS 7.1 or anyone of these updated apps? What do you think of the changes? Let us know in the comments.
